The course gives a broad introduction in the Industrial Engineering field. Industrial Engineering is an application-oriented scientific discipline that deals with the creation and management of systems that integrate people and materials and energy in productive ways. The Industrial Engineering course establishes a foundation in four areas: human factors engineering, manufacturing systems engineering, operations research, and management systems engineering. The course covers topics such as production systems, production design, factory planning, industrial management and decision making. Students will gain an understanding of both the theoretical and practical aspects of industrial engineering.
